What does the initial Creative Brief need to include?

Whether you need a logo refresh or a complete corporate identity, a tri-fold brochure or an annual report, a full-blown ecommerce website, or any other of our creative services each project begins with a unique Creative Brief.

  • This detailed project summary specifies:
  • What deliverables (creative development services) we need to create and produce
  • How you intend to use them
  • Their target audience
  • What objectives and standards they are expected to meet
  • Comparable projects created by your competitors
  • The project budget and timeline for completion
  • The key contact(s) responsible for managing the project
  • The key stakeholder(s) who will contribute ideas, information and other content to the project
  • The key decision makers responsible for reviewing and approving the project

The Creative Brief helps ensure we understand the initial scope of work, as well as your vision for the project’s overall look, feel and tone. It’s likely the brief will evolve quickly as we start asking questions and developing creative concepts, so it’s very important that we’re all on the same page before the project begins.

When will I see my first concept drafts?

The timeline for presenting project deliverables, including initial concepts drafts, is specified in the final Creative Brief approved by you and BRAND. It is affected by the scope of the project.

For example, concept drafts for simpler projects, such as stationery packages, would be developed and presented far more quickly than those for large, more complex web or print projects. In any case, the concept draft deadlines specified in the finalized timeline will be met.

Will I be able to make changes to the project concept and/or content?

Of course. Your project is a creative collaboration with BRAND and your comments, suggestions and preferences are always welcome and considered. No matter which of our creative development services you need, BRAND specifies the maximum number of routine changes or versions in the Contractual Agreement for each project.

If you require additional changes or versions beyond the maximum number or request major changes to the approved concepts under development, you and BRAND will discuss and approve amendments to the project budget and timeline prior to implementing the changes.

How long does a project take to complete?

Every creative service presents a different set of requirements and challenges. Generally, it depends on the scope of the project, (how many creative development services are needed) the approved timeline and the number and type of changes you may require.

We can be flexible in scheduling our resources to meet accelerated timelines. However, extremely quick turnarounds may require rush charges, which would be discussed with and approved by you before these charges are applied.

How much do creative development services cost?

Like many other project costs, creative development services vary in price. The project scope, complexity and timeline are all factors. We provide written estimates for all creative development costs in our contractual agreement and will deliver the finished work at the agreed price unless you require major changes to the deliverables during the development process.

Accelerating the project timeline may require rush charges that would increase the cost. If the contracted creative development budget needs to be revised, we always discuss any changes with you and will not proceed with the work or apply additional charges unless you approve them. There are never any unwelcomed surprises.
